Commissioned by BrabantWonen, a corporation for social housing, and supported by Het Makershuis, I analyzed together with architect and urban planner Floris Schiferli, the problems of the neighborhood Kruiskamp in the Dutch city of Den Bosch. We found out that residents in these kinds of areas especially experience urban burdens and rarely any urban attractions. In order to change this, we developed the Kruiscampers.
The design for the two mobile buildings was based on the ideas these buildings triggered with residents and mainly focus on multifunctionality with a very urban look. The buildings have already offered shelter to a One Day Döner Restaurant, a Portable Zoo and various performances.
